whostar on Mar 2, 2011 16:48:44 (zavvi.com) As the title of my review suggests, this album is incredible, pure brilliance from start to finish. It's so refreshing to see an artist who is both extremely talented, and enjoying what he does at the same time. The clear stand out tracks are 'The Recluse' which incorporates some of his old style rap music along with his soulful melodies, and 'Prayin' which showcases his vocal talent. It is without doubt the best album I have purchased this year and deserves a place in everyone's collection. The only doubt I have now, is how Plan B will top this!

alfred on Jan 5, 2011 20:30:38 (play.com) Having stormed into public prominence with his awesome debut, 'Who Needs Actions When You Got Words', the much anticipated follow-up has been four years in the making. Swapping rapping for more conventional singing methods, the album tells the story of a sharp-suited soul singer who loses everything. With the tale being told in the form of both nuggets of lyrical genius and Motown grooves, songwriter Ben Drew is in outstanding form throughout. Spearheaded by singles "The Recluse" and "She Said", the album successfully delivers the concept without ever sacrificing a good melody, building to a tense, thrilling conclusion.

lennon on Sep 29, 2010 21:16:56 (zavvi.com) 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks' is the second studio album from rapper Plan B. Following the well received 'Who Needs Actions When You Got Words' Plan B moves away from the distinctive acoustic rap approach that defined his debut, to a soulful sound littered with strings, horns and showcasing Ben Drew's untapped vocal ability. The album follows a story of character "Strickland Banks" who is convicted wrongly for an unspecified crime and is played by Drew in the videos for singles 'Stay Too Long' and 'She Said'.
